Renewable hydrogen breakfast and roundtable discussions
Information
'Renewable hydrogen’ is hydrogen produced through the electrolysis of water (in an electrolyser, powered by electricity), and with the electricity stemming from renewable sources. New EU rules state that to be 100% renewable, hydrogen must be produced with additional renewable generation, unless the local grid meets decarbonisation requirements. Power purchase agreements are one such way to prove additionality. Whilst direct electrification is the most efficient way to decarbonise industry, renewable hydrogen will be the ‘last mile’ of decarbonisation for some hard to abate sectors.
Join this networking breakfast and series of roundtable discussions diving into PPAs and renewable hydrogen production. Before reaching long-term renewable PPAs, what requirements do producers need to comply with to be certified as renewable hydrogen? What about additionality and the temporal and geographic correlation criteria? What are the challenges? Join us to learn more, share, and network. The format is roundtable discussions in which attendees can actively participate. All RE-Source attendees are welcome.
